Everyone wants to be happy and free from suffering. Unfortunately
many, if not most, people look for stable well-being in the wrong
places. Through effective therapy, a person can have increased
contentment, cope effectively with difficulties, enjoy positive
interpersonal relationships, grow, and thrive. Although it is
common for people to be reluctant to discuss personal and family
problems, the rewards of honest disclosure to a caring and competent
psychologist can be great.
Over the years I
have helped thousands of persons who suffered from depression,
anxiety, stress, trauma, grief, and health problems. My proficiency
in facilitating healing helps people recover from abusive and
traumatic experiences and to repair of damaged self-esteem.
I have assisted many couples in learning how to reduce destructive
conflict, improve healthy communication and cooperation, and improve
parenting skills.
My
main approach is
called Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT). CBT targets dysfunctional
thinking and behavior to create happier emotions. It is faster
and less invasive than therapies that uncover deep roots. I
use hypnosis and other therapies when appropriate.
